Who We Are
Kenwood United Methodist Church is a small church with a big heart in Ashland, Virginia. We welcome anyone who is seeking God to join with us in mission and ministry. We believe that loving God and loving others is the foundation of the teachings of Jesus. We strive to follow God in building the kingdom of God right here, right now.
Rev. Diana Foster
PASTOR
Rev. Foster was raised in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. Her family went faithfully to the Mt. Pleasant Church of God. As she was growing up, she took piano lessons, sang in the choir, served as a church camp counselor, volunteered in the nursery and children’s church, served as an officer in the youth group, and did just about anything at church that they would let her do.
She graduated with a BA in Music Education from West Virginia University. After working in public schools for a couple of years, she returned to West Virginia University to earn a Master of Music in Choral Conducting. After graduation, she took a job in Georgia at Andrew College as Director of Choral Activities.
She served two different United Methodist Churches in suburban Atlanta as a full-time Music Minister. In 2013, she was hired as the Director of Children’s Ministries at Woodlake UMC in Chesterfield, VA, and served there for 9 years. During that time, she felt called by God to become a pastor. She went to Union Presbyterian Seminary and graduated in 2022 with her Master of Divinity.
Rev. Foster has been serving at Kenwood UMC since August 2022. It is her honor and joy to be the pastor at Kenwood. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her children, listening to audiobooks, yoga, watching movies, and musical theater.
